About the Trip
This year we are looking at three nights, four days at this beautiful spot northwest of Rabbit Ears Pass! Some have requested a two night option so we have offered it! At present, Steamboat expects Bluegrass music that weekend. The room is equipped with running water, heating, queen beds, linen, pillows, microwave, ski storage, is streamside and has decks. Rabbit Ears Motel, 201 Lincoln Ave (970) 879-1150 is located across from the Old Town Hot Springs and Fitness Center (discount passes available). It is also located along the bus line for tripping to and from the ski area. The Cheyenne Ski Club will provide dinner Sunday night, friends, and laughter . Breakfasts are included by the motel with the room fee. Carpooling is encouraged.

You Need to Bring
Please bring as appropriate: skiing gear, drinks, food for lunches, clothing, personal items, swim suit, crocs, ski pass, avalanche safety gear, and any other necessary equipment, cards if you are a card player. You will need money for some night meals. It is recommended you have downhill ski pass arrangements made prior to arriving in Steamboat. Please talk to the trip captain if you have questions about other equipment recommended for this trip, or anything you might need!

Cancellation Policy
No cancellations/returns are available after January 24th, 2023.

Medicine Bow Backcountry Trips

Once you’re educated and prepared, we have a number of exciting weekend trips for you. This year, we also have skiers interested in impromptu day trips in the Snowies.

Cheyenne Ski Club will be offering members a chance to join in exploring the Snowy Range!

Email Trip Captain to see when the next tour will be scheduled. All members joining tours are required to carry a beacon, shovel, and probe and know how to use them when traversing in avalanche terrain. Group size will be limited and all members are required to bring necessary equipment, food, clothing, and extra supplies.

If you aren’t sure what gear is needed, or are new to backcountry skiing, please don’t hesitate to contact us, we are here to help! Switchback Travel also offers some great tips on getting started.

If you are not a member please sign up! Membership is required to attend trips. Our fees go towards making these trips possible.
