As of December 9, here is the planned itinerary of the Telluride Trip being held in conjunction
with the Intermountain Ski Council. Changes are possible, and as an enrollee,
you will be on the list for any updates that may occur.  In any event, feel free to ask the
trip captains, whose contact info is at the bottom of this page if you have further questions.

Jonna and I are working on the final details of the Cheyenne Ski Club trip to Telluride, which is planned over MLK weekend from January 14-17, and here are some of the details to keep in mind.  We are also working on a formal agenda which will be disseminated via email closer to our departure.

1.  The bus will depart #1 Properties located in the Target shopping center at 12:30, so please make the necessary arrangements now to be there on time in order to load your stuff on the bus so we can have a timely departure.  In the past, CSC bus trips have, at times, generally left later in the afternoon on the day of the departure, so with this early notice we are giving you lots of time to coordinate your work and travel plans so we can leave in time to arrive in Telluride for the welcome reception.  As you know the weather can be unpredictable in January, so we also need to allow for bad weather and slowed traffic.  We will be stopping to pick up Kim and Kevin at I-25 and 120th Street, probably around 2:00, and Melinda, Katelin and Tim at the Harmony bus stop in Ft. Collins around 1:00.  Either Jonna or I will call these 5 members as we leave Cheyenne so they can be at the meeting place at the proper time.  If anyone else needs to be picked up at these locations, please advise Jonna or me so we can add you to the list.  If your phone number has changed since you registered for the trip, please let us know that too.

2.   Upon arriving at the Bear Creek Lodge in Telluride, we will be met by a resort representative who will give us an orientation and distribute room keys, lift tickets, tickets for the bar-b-q, and so forth.  We will have time to unpack and have a late dinner in the Mountain Village.  A walk around the village in some fresh air after a long bus ride will be nice too.

3.  On Saturday, if you signed up for NASTAR, the races will begin at 10:30.  I have submitted your ages to NASTAR for official record keeping.  We will be racing the Arizona Ski Council, and it should be lots of fun.  If you signed up for the bar-b-q, we will follow the NASTAR with an on-mountain lunch at Gorrono Ranch, an on-mountain restaurant.  The remainder of the day is at your leisure.

4.  Saturday night we will have a wine and cheese party with a silent auction.  Don't forget your checkbook in case you bid and win an item, and bring your crazy sunglasses!   I have heard that Don Anderson will be making our very own shot-ski for all future council trips, so if you have a favorite liquid shot, feel free to bring it and share with your friends.  Dinner will be on your own this evening.

5.  Sunday will be a day to ski at your leisure.  We are working on designing a pub crawl for Sunday night.  We will visit a total of 3-4 bars in the Mountain Village and in the town of Telluride, then finish at a place for dinner, probably in town.  Details will be finalized soon and will be included in your itinerary that you will receive later.

6.  Some of you have planned to ski on Monday, others have chosen to spend the day in town checking out all the sites and neat shops.   Whichever you decide make sure you are ready to depart Telluride at 3:30 from the Bear Creek Lodge.

7.  If you are thinking of visiting the Peaks Resort and Spa, make your spa reservations several weeks in advance at 800-772-5482 as it is very popular and can book up quickly.

8.  If you are interested in heli-skiing, let me know and I will put you in contact with the heli-skiing company in Telluride.
