  • NASTAR: We recently maligned this site for its complexity.  It's undergone a welcome re-design, and now has nine years of race results.  Ski Nastar and get your name in lights -- er -- electrons.  Rankings are based on state of residence, so it should be easy to get in the top ten for Wyoming.
  • National Ski Patrol:  Begun early in the World War II years, this is the only civilian group to have selected members of a U. S. military unit - the famed 10th Mountain Division.  Now you find patrollers at nearly every ski area, ready to care for your medical and first-aid needs.
  • Medicine Bow Nordic Association: Grooming the Tie City and Happy Jack trails near the summit of Interstate 80 east of Laramie.

  • Medicine Bow Nordic Ski Patrol:  On the trails at Summit and Snowy Range throughout the winter watching out for you and your group.

  • Warren Miller Movies:  For over fifty years, these have been the definitive ski movies, narrated by Warren Miller himself.  Check the dates for their local showings here.   Some locations issue free lift tickets with your admission, some do not, so check closely

  • UW Nordic Ski Team:   Site of Wyoming's Men's Nordic Champions! A dedicated group of young men and women are working to keep alive the fine tradition that the University of Wyoming Ski Teams enjoyed for many years until the NCAA program was dismantled by the administration back in the 90's.

  • United States Ski Team:  Follow the progress of our skiers and snowboarders as they begin preparations for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.

  • How cold will it get here in Cheyenne?  Want make your own snow?
  • Aha! An independent magazine.  These are hard to find nowadays.  Go to Freeskier.
  • Skinet is the website of the folks that print Ski and Skiing magazines.  Has a smattering of articles from their current issues and some up-to-date industry and racing news.
  • Powder Magazine - this magazine has the best ski photos of any mainstream mag, period.  The website ain't bad either.
  • Breakthrough on Skis - renowned ski writer Lito Tejada-Flores and some of his guests reflect on skiing.  Good reading.   Excellent B&W and colof photography by his wife Linde Waidhofer.
  • San Juan Huts - another link to skiing in southwestern Colorado.  This link provided by Sue and Kevin.
  • Done any tele-skiing?  Go to telemarktips for tips, videos, lessons, and more.  Thanks to Mark for suggesting this site. Hey, thre's a HUGE amount if information here, whether or not you're a 3-pinner.
  • REI Outlet.  Another hot tip from Mark's bookmarks file.  He suggests that if you see something you like, GET IT!  Stuff moves very quickly.
  • From the UK, here's a well-rounded website called ifyouski.com.   Resorts, gear, travel, FIS results, several active bulletin boards, and more.   Thanks to Christer for the link.
  • Can we ever outguess the weather?  Probably not!  But there's a wealth of information at snow-forecast.com, as well as great photos, classifieds, and a nice groups of links.  Another great tip from Christer.
  • Right in our backyard - have you been to Jax lately?  It sure has changed since our last visit back in our college days,  back -- uh -- when was that, anyhow?  jaxoutdoor.com
  • A wide-ranging newsletter, and a chance for you to win lift tickets by submitting a story is what you'll find at Ski Bum News.  Be sure to read about Mary Jane's secret stashes before we go there in December.
  • BOOKLIST.   We've begun a reading list of ski and outdoor books.  Great for gift-giving. The first few come from a column provided by Ellen.  Please let us know what other books and videos merit inclusion.
