October 20
Cheyenne Ski Club's Lucky Thirteenth Chili Cook-off will take place at the Knights of Columbus at 507 West 28th St. Show up with five bucks, get a short-term membership,  and vote for the best of the house (free for kids under 12). Call Darwin at 634-7815 for more information if you want to submit your best concoction - all submissions are welcome and eligible for the coveted Traveling Ladle.   Doors are open at 5:30 pm, with serious chili beginning not long after. This is a great chance to get acquainted and get more info on our trips. Last year's winner Tammy will be defending against all comers.
Signups will be accepted for any and all trips on the Nordic schedule, and for the December trip to Winter Park this evening.

November 1
Our first regular meeting.  This will be your first opportunity to sign up for the Jackson trip, while Nordic signups continue.  Our special guest speaker will be the rep from SmartWool, the most comfortable ski sock out there. Meeting begins at 7:30 at the Knights of Columbus.
November 10
Colorado Snow Sports Expo at Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver. We'll be carpooling down for the day.   Meet at the Game and Fish Overflow Parking Lot at 8:00 AM on Saturday.  After a day of shopping for equipment, buying passes and picking up brochures for all the places the club can't take you to this year, we'll stop off for a bite on the way home. November 15
We have another opportunity to spend the evening at nearby  Hynds Lodge ( a little history).! It's located midway between Cheyenne and Laramie. Come up and see and, get reacquainted with other club members and enjoy some snacks. We'll furnish brats and soft drinks. Please bring a side dish or dessert.  We'll build the bonfire a little earlier, but things'll really start cookin' about 6:30.
December 6
Regular Meeting at the Knights.  Our guest speaker, back by popular demand, is Dr. Helen Iams from the Family Practice Center.  You'd be surprised how important what and when you eat will affect your endurance and form during the ski day.  Signups for the Jackson/Grand Targhee trip will be accepted tonight.
December 14-16
We're heading back to Winter Park after our excellent early-season trip last year.  You'll be surprised you economical this trip is!  Great first trip of the year!  Details soon.
December 20
The night of our favorite Holiday Gift Exchange.   All members and guests are welcome. The cost?  One wrapped "White Elephant" gift (marked as "adult" or "child") for each person attending.  (White Elephant generally means something you've used that you're ready to pass on to a new owner.) 
January 3
Meeting is at the Knights of Columbus, with a hands-on program from Sandy Champlin, a local physical therapist and club member.  You still have time to recover from all those New Year's excesses before the peak of the ski season.  Begins at 7:30.
January 4 - 6
Nordic weekend at Snow Mountain Ranch near Winter Park, Colorado.  Enjoy skinny-skiing on their incomparable trail system.  Lodging is in well-appointed cabins and there'll be room for those that want to visit the nearby downhill areas of Winter Park and Mary Jane. January 17   
Enjoy our 7th Annual Dessert Bake-off.   Bring in your favorite dessert and compete for a very attractive prize. Be sure to check out the other's entries too -- you can always burn off the calories on the slope.
January 18 - 21
Three days in Jackson. Arriving in Jackson on Friday evening we'll ski Jackson and Targhee Saturday and Sunday, then return to Cheyenne after skiing on Martin Luther King Day. Jackson website Targhee website Snow King website Nordic
January 22 - 26
The Nordic highlight of our season every couple of years, and this is the year.  Enter Yellowstone Park on snowcoach on Tuesday, and enjoy the winter paradise until Saturday morning when you'll come out.  Call Art at 638-1286 for details SOON!
February 7

Three-Day Alpine trip to Crested Butte.  Details soon.
February 15 - 18
Long Nordic holiday weekend at Michigan Lakes just west of Cameron Pass.  Three days on the skinny skis.  This is an ideal area for all skill levels.  Again, Art has the info: 638-1286

March 7 - 9
The destination for this nordic weekend is the cabins at Columbine, a ghost town north of Steamboat Springs a piece.  You'll find an excellent trail system at Steamboat Lake. But if you'd prefer to stay there and drive back to Steamboat for the day at the area, let Art know early so he can secure additional cabins.
March 14 - 16
Seems like forever since the club has been to Steamboat.  Enjoy great spring skiing. Trip deails soon
March 20
Yet another Treasure Hunt!  After your team solves a series of puzzles and locates clues around Cheyenne, you'll end up at a local restaurant to compare notes with all the other teams. Nominal entry fee to help with your meal is required. The starting place will be announced.
Late March or Early April
One more Nordic weekend before the season's over.  Location will be determined as the winter develops.
April 3 
Election results and refreshments. Location to be announced
April 19   
Final ski trip is a day trip to A-Basin.  This is atop the Continental Divide with its delightful (if unpredictable) spring skiing.  
June
A day rafting on the Poudre River. Last year we did both a half-day and a full-day trip. We'll let you know the dates in plenty of time to enjoy this whitewater adventure.
